What makes a photo sexy?

Is it the body appearing in the photo, the face, the beauty, the possition, the backround, the colours, the nudity or the overall package?

Which kind of photos you find sexy? Colour? Black & White? Graphics?

How important are photos in a profile? Do they help?

We would like to hear your opinion.

Shoot....

The whole package is what makes it great, but B&W can set the mind reeling if done right. xxoo

Empty Avatar

It can be the whole package, but not always. If our profile photos had numbers we could reffer to some examples. The subject is important, while the backround or the sorrounding scene might not be of any importance.

For example, your photos 14 and 41 (the face pics) stand out on their own. No backround, scenery, colour or graphics help.....

the contrast between sexy-body and the surrounding !!

Especially if the surrounding includes more sexy women

Photos are as important as a good description in a profile. We can't fathom how people expect to meet people without uploading some photos of themselves.

We would think the whole package is important. We always find B&W and Sepia somehow make things more sensual. Genital close-ups are a no no and don't do it for us, we actually find them gross most of the time - it's great to leave some things to one's imagination! However a good photo, showing most of the body of both the male and the female should be a standard. Let's face it, first thing everyone looks for in a profile most of the time are the photos.

This is actually a very interesting subject, which could be expanded in various ways - how recent photos should be, the issue with photo collectors, photo privacy, fake photos, etc etc

We never understood why ppl are collecting photos.... there are tones of them in porno sites.

A real nice picture includes sexy positions, coloured or black & white , and the fact that the faces are not visable makes you want to guess what he/she looks like. but it`s important that the surrounding backgrounds play the whole thing too.

we love artistic photos.... more than sex photos (showing dicks & pussies)

Empty Avatar

personally we think black and white ones are very very sexy xx

Okay, another self indulgent musing from camp Hellbound - also available as an audiobook for anyone who doesn't have a spare hour or two to read our ramblings!

It's hard for us to say what we prefer. It's like being asked what your favourite song is . . . erm, let me think about that one. Russ Abbott's 'I love a party'!

We love a party too, and a good candid shot as this can convey the subject's personality a lot better than a posed photo. But wait, we also really like artistic photos?!

I think as long as the person looks like they've went to a little effort it can make all the difference. A hot model standing in a messy room full of children's toys, DVDs, and discarded work clothes can have an adverse effect. You're thinking "wow, that's a really ni. . . wait a minute - we have those curtains!"

Photos (as opposed to video) allow you make allowances for insecurities - turn this way, crop that out - and the knowledge of that alone can put a subject at ease, thus increasing their confidence and revealing their most attractive qualities. People don't need to share photos that they aren't comfortable with, and yet you still see a few and wonder what they were thinking (we have our fair share that will never see the light of day - or the dark of the room for that matter).

We couldn't even say that we prefer a particular style of photo. We have seen (and taken) photos shot in what should be an aesthetically pleasing manner, but they just don't work. And turning a bad picture to black and white is still a bad picture.

Conclusion? We don't know! But what's certain is that a good photo is all the more important in a lifestyle where aesthetics can almost be as important as personality, and blind dates can result in PTSD! :S. Even if you think that looks aren't as important as the profile description, a bad photo will still steer you clear!

We've felt unexpectedly drawn to, or aroused by, the most demure of photos while being repelled by an explicit one (although we're maybe more guilty than most for going OTT). One man' sexy is another man's . . . not sexy (what's the opposite of sexy? Maybe that's for another discussion/rant).

It's a funny old game!

Prof. Van-Hellbound, over and out!
